Featuring interactive demonstrations on everything paddling and outdoorsy, including: SUP demonstrations, paddle-making, camp cooking and food dehydration, water filtration options, what kids can do if they find themselves lost in the woods...and more! Be sure to check out the paddling exhibits too so you are ready for another great Saskatchewan paddling season.

1:00 pm  Outfitting Your Sea Kayak for Tripping: Joe Milligan

  • Whether you're on the water for one day or multiple days, tripping is more than the gear you take, but also how you outfit your kayak. In this practical session we'll look at outfitting your kayak and where to keep important items.

2:00 pm Wild Waters: Frank Wolf, Canadian filmmaker, adventurer, writer and environmentalist (on the Expo main stage)

  • Frank Wolf introduces us to his life as a long-distance wilderness tripper, followed by the first in-depth presentation of his recent 1800 km, 44-day expedition from La Ronge to Baker Lake. Frank's boundary-pushing, world class expeditions advocate for the protection of the sensitive ecosystems he travels through. These journeys include canoeing across Canada in a single season, paddling across Scandinavia, and a recent 1800 km expedition from La Ronge to Baker Lake. He's been recognized as 'One of Canada's Top 100 Explorers' by Canadian Geographic Magazine, and was named one of Canada's Top Ten Adventurers by Explore Magazine.

Sunday, April 9th

  • This presentation is designed for youth and adults who want to paddle, whether it is using stand-up paddleboards, kayaks or canoes. Topics include trip planning, training and taking the essentials for water based activities.
